My name is Waleed Alamleh and I'm a Multi-Media journalist with a passion for telling the communities stories. In a world filled with opinions I like to give the facts.
My passion for reporting started years ago while I was at Northern Illinois University, starting as a sports writer for the school's newspaper. But, after years of writing and reporting on sports, the news bug would find me.
I started out in the news industry as a photojournalist in South Bend, Indiana back in 2022. Starting off behind the camera helped me learn all the in’s and outs needed to become an on-air talent. And getting to cover big college games, learning the area, and learning the ins-and-outs of the industry helped me immensely.
Eventually I would make the transition to Multi-Media Journalist reporting on stories surrounding the Michiana community. Starting out as the morning reporter for a couple of months, before making the transition to our night side position.
After months of proving myself with stories, I was eventually given the chance to anchor our weekend morning and night shows, which pushed my love for news even further!
Making the move here to Grand Rapids isn’t too far for me, because I'm also a midwest boy from the South Suburbs of Chicago. So, yes I'm a huge Bears fan, but hopefully we can all get along, for 15 weeks out of the season!
