HAVE A STORY IDEA IN HOLLAND OR ZEELAND? EMAIL ALINA!
Hi there! My name is Alina Hauter and I’m ecstatic to be the neighborhood reporter for Holland and Zeeland.
My grandmother - or halmoni in Korean (할머니) - always said I’d end up on television in some way, shape, or form, and now I’m a multimedia journalist at FOX 17! I had a very non-traditional childhood as I grew up on an Air Force base in South Korea, an experience that I hold near and dear to my heart. I was lucky to grow up performing in the arts, including traditional Korean dance, ballet, and theatre.
I’ve been in news since 2019, starting as an operations technician at FOX 31 in Denver, Colorado. It was in Colorado that I graduated magna cum laude from Metropolitan State University of Denver with an undergrad degree, majoring in Communications with an emphasis in Broadcasting, and minoring in Digital Media. I was the executive producer for MET Media, the school’s student-run newscast, which helped shape my love for journalism.
More recently, I spent three years in Billings, Montana, working as a multimedia journalist and anchor for KTVQ. I’ve also had the opportunity to live in beautiful places like Honolulu, Hawaii and Pensacola, Florida, which has given me a unique perspective when it comes to storytelling.
I believe everyone has a story to tell, even if they might not realize it, and I want to be the person who brings those stories to life. If you see me on the street, or in a news car, say hi! I love meeting new people and seeing new places, and I feel so lucky to be a part of both the Holland and Zeeland communities.
If you have a story idea that you’d like to share, email me at alina.hauter@fox17online.com.
