Multi-Media Journalist and Weekend Morning Anchor

Lauren Kummer joined the FOX 17 News team in September 2020. She left in 2024.

She was born and raised in LaSalle, Ontario, Canada and comes from a family of six.

It was in high school she became interested in news and telling stories. She anchored the morning announcements where she found a passion for informing her peers of current events, important information and other student’s accomplishments.

From there, she attended Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers, FL where she was a part of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Lauren graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and a minor in French. She also studied abroad in Paris and traveled around Europe while she was there.

Before coming to FOX 17 News, Lauren worked in central Nebraska as a Weekend Anchor & News Reporter for NTV News & KFXL FOX Nebraska. There she discovered a liking to Nebraska football and grew to enjoy telling agriculture stories.

While she’s not at work, you can find Lauren exploring “her backyard” - trying new foods, activities and visiting places around west Michigan. She loves wine, boating, musicals, county music & traveling.
