WEST MICHIGAN — The last time Grand Rapids reached the 90 degree mark was way back on July 20, 2019. A little overdue and more than 10 months ago. In fact, we never reached 90 in the month of August...quite unusual. The record high temperature for May 26 is 90, set back on this date in 2010. Thus far, we've tied the record.

We expect that this was the warmest day out of the bunch this week. Temperatures and humidity will gradually slide the next few days and by Friday, highs will only make the low/mid 70s. This weekend highs are only expected in the mid/upper 60s...nice relief for folks that cannot take the heat and humidity. We also expect to see more widespread shower/storm chances Wednesday, and they become likely on Thursday as a cold front slides across the region.
