Joey Silveri accounted for five touchdowns as Grand Rapids Catholic Central beat Cedar Springs 42-28 on Friday to improve to 3-0 in the OK Gold and 3-0 overall.
The junior signal caller completed 7 of 8 passes for 184 yard and four scores, he added 114 yards and another TD on the ground.
CC led 21-8 at the half and 35-16 after three quarters before the Red Hawks mounted a rally.
Cedar junior running back Aiden Brunin, who ran for 151 yards on 27 carries, scored his second TD of the game to cut the deficit to 35-22 with 7:13 to play in the 4th quarter.
After the Red Hawks recovered an onside kick, quarterback Jeremy Campione scored on a one-yard sneak to make it 35-28 with 1:41 left.
The Cougars would recover the ensuing onside kick and Silveri would score on a 24-yard run to put the game away.
Grand Rapids Catholic Central will play at Kenowa Hills next week while Cedar Springs (2-1, 2-1) will host South Christian.
