MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Mona Shores hockey team beat Grand Rapids Christian, 4-1 on Friday night to improve to a perfect 9-0 on the season.

Jake Nanna and Landon Taylor each netted two goals in the victory and they say the hot start is all for their late teammate, Brennan Dethloff.

"It's great after going through what we had to go through this year, just going out there and performing how we are right now, it's feels great," said Taylor, "we're going 100 percent, we've had a few bad periods here and there but we always finish hard in the third."

And after a tough few weeks without a hockey season and losing a teammate, Nanna says it's all made them closer.

"It's brought our team more like a brotherhood than just a team," Nanna added, "it feels like a family, doing that day in and day out and being there for each other. There's a bond on this team that you won't find anywhere else."
