PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. — It was a highly anticipated OK White matchup between Forest Hills Central and Northview on Wednesday night in the team's season openers.
At the half, the Rangers would hold a 33-28 lead before extending it early in the third quarter.
The Wildcats would trail, 40-30 with 4:43 left in the third quarter before Jalen Charity and Kyler Vanderjagt would step up to cut the deficit.
Northview would go on a 7-0 run late in the third quarter to trail by just three before the Rangers responded with another run.
The Rangers would lead 45-41 with 5:54 left when junior Jacob Bonnett knocked down a triple before a steal on the in-bounds pass seconds later, ultimately finding Dallas Hopson for the deuce.
Hopson would score a team-high 16 points off the bench while Bonnett added 15, including clutch free throws from both down the stretch.
The Rangers will get set to square off with Forest Hills Northern in another OK White showdown on Friday night.
