BYRON CENTER, Mich. — Byron Center jumped out to an early lead on Friday afternoon in the home opener against Lowell-Caledonia.
Just minutes in, Nik Schepers scored from the corner to make it 1-0 Bulldogs. The score would remain that going into the first intermission.
In the second period, Logan Nickolaus would feed Brady Breit in front for the score to give Byron Center a 2-0 lead.
Later, Lowell-Caledonia would get on the board as Dylan Olsen buried a one-timer from the point to cut into the deficit, 2-1.
From there, it was all Bulldogs.
Luke Nickolaus would score to make it 3-1 Byron Center before two late goals from Logan Nickolaus and Connor Middleton made it 5-1.
Sophomore goaltender Carson MacKenzie made 25 saves in net as the Bulldogs improve to 2-0 on the young season.
