Portage Northern senior running back Anthony Tyus III signed his national letter of intent on Wednesday to play football at Northwestern.
"This is a dream come true," Tyus said, "honestly a dream come true!"
He was emotional when thanking the small, socially distant gathering.
Tyus thanked his parents, family, friends coaches and community for their support.
He donned a purple sport coat, purple shoes and even had Northwestern socks saying the Wildcats school colors have always been some of his favorites.
“My dad and mom have always loved purple and black," Tyus said. "Like I said everything happened for a reason so when they offered me I was like dad, mom they are purple and black we have this all over the house and it was just like wow and I started wearing it, family is like you look good in it and I was like I feel good about Northwestern and I ended up committing there and signing today and it has just been a dream come true.”
Tyus said he will early enroll at Northwestern. He is scheduled to move on to campus in early January.
