In business in West Michigan for 24 years, Marketing Director David Robb of Express Employment Professionals Grand Rapids told Fox 17 they have connected somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 people with a job locally, and served more than 1,000 companies over that time.
“Our primary clients are medium-to-small sized companies who might be stretched thin on their recruiting resources, or not have a large HR team,” Robb told Fox 17.
There is no charge to job seekers for the service.
Robb adds that the jobs they have available fall into four general categories: light industrial, skilled trade, professional and administrative, each of which providing those looking for a job with an opportunity that fits their talents
“For example on the light industrial side, that’s going to be a lot of manufacturing openings, distribution, warehouse and even labor positions," Robb said. "The other end of the spectrum we’ve got administrative and professional, really we have a wide variety from HR positions to accounting, to call centers and receptionists.”
Robb told Fox 17 that despite the unemployment report, a search of Google Trends people aren’t actively seeking employment as most might expect, and he adds that he has many employers actively looking to hire.
