Wandering around the many zoos, petting zoos and nature centers is something that families love to do here in West Michigan and beyond. While these places are not fully open beyond their gift shops, etc. they are doing a fantastic job entertaining families on Facebook!

Did you know a baby Grant Zebra is on the way at Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park, Alto, Michigan. Can you guess what date and time this foal will make its arrival? Enter your guess on their Facebook page for a chance at a $50 zoo gift card.

Have you ever seen a baby albino wallaby? “Olaf” was born not long ago at Lewis Adventure Farm & Zoo, New Era. Along with checking out his adorable photos, you can share some fun facts about “Olaf” with your kids. Also, they are doing orders for Apple Cinnamon Donut bouquets for Mother’s Day.

Today, May 5, is Giving Zoo Day at Binder Park Zoo, Battle Creek. Remember, even though they are closed, the cost for animal care never stops. Follow the link to help with your charitable contribution.

Go along with supervisors and zookeepers at John Ball Zoo in their “Zoo Insider” videos on Facebook. Watch them feed the penguins, interact with frolicking otters and so much more! They even have specialty animal themed face masks for sale.

A wonderful gem in Montcalm County is Anderson & Girls Orchards, Stanton. Their FREE zoo boasts things like lemurs, camels, exotic birds and so much more. While the zoo area is currently closed, their fabulous gift and bake shop is open! Make sure to hop online to get your Mother’s Day items. Honestly, you will be impressed by their selection.

Also, they are great about posting adorable pictures of their critters on Facebook. We absolutely loved a recent picture of reindeer, Dancer’s first birthday.
