Apps providing educational screen time for the kids

More than ever, kids might have their faces planted in phones, laptops and other devices, especially if parents are working from home and it’s one way to keep children entertained. Well, these same devices can provide educational opportunities with some apps.

Khan Academy

Free and educational is what Khan Academy is all about.
Reading, language, math, social-emotional development, problem-solving and more is what award-winning Khan Academy includes. Your kids will enjoy a cast of colorful characters and it is fantastic for kindergarten to adults.

PBS KIDS APP

We are big fans of the free PBS Kids app! All of the PBS characters your family loves, will not only entertain but educate with games. Also, if your kids are watching the shows, you can be assured that it is safe and educational.

Stack the States

A great one for geography and fun facts about the 50 states is Stack the States app. Enjoy interactive games, learn state capitals, state abbreviations and more

Duolingo

Want to learn another language for free? Choose from 30 plus languages with Duolingo. This uses quizzes and other interactive methods to work on those foreign language skills.
