GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Gas prices in Grand Rapids have are 16.5 cents a gallon lower than a month ago, says GasBuddy. The web site’s daily survey shows today’s prices are 9.6 cents lower than last week.
Kalamazoo’s average price is $1.91/g, which is 11.4 cents per gallon lower than last week’s average.
The lowest price in Grand Rapids is $1.65, which is also the lowest price reported in the state; the highest price in Grand Rapids is $2.09, while the state’s highest price is $2.39.
Every price, of course, could change any minute.
But "we may end up seeing the lowest Thanksgiving prices in five years if prices continue to trend lower this week,” notes GasBuddy’s head of petroleum analysis Patrick DeHaan in a release. He points to reduced demand as the main cause for the lower prices but warns that when a vaccine becomes available, demand – and prices – will rise with more travel.
