MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Halloween snowstorm is one Muskegon won't soon forget — especially for Chelsea McArthur.

You'll hear the crack as a massive limb gives way right above her head, coming down on the car she was wiping off.

Debris flies everywhere and the whole view turns white before the eerie quiet takes over.

Thankfully, Chelsea McArthur is okay. But there's more to this story than meets the eye.

Chelsea originally parked her car higher up in the driveway but moved her vehicle farther down because she was nervous some droopy snow-covered tree branches would snap. She backed her car up right into the very problem she was trying to avoid.

“This tree. I don’t know what it was, but I had a feeling,” Chelsea said, pointing up at the sky.

McArthur says she considers herself lucky things didn't end worse. She was clearing snow off of her car when the limb fell.

“I just thought in my head, 'If a branch comes down, I’m just going to duck and cover,'” McArthur said.

Chelsea did duck and cover, narrowly avoiding being hit by the falling branch.

It's a shock, but not entirely a surprise. You see, Chelsea has a storied past with her driveway.

“I was ran over exactly two months ago to the day,” McArthur said.

The tree incident happened on Oct. 31.

The video below happened on Aug. 31:

Muskegon woman run over by own car

“It’s quite the story,” McArthur said.

The dog got out, and Chelsea went to chase it. The only problem was, in the rush, she left her car in reverse.

“To have these incidents happen within two months apart ... I told myself New Year's Eve, 'I’m not going out or doing anything.' Something about the 31st of the month,” McArthur said.

Chelsea considers herself lucky the worst of the damage is dents and a busted windshield. She's hoping her car isn't jinxed.

“All my friends are like, 'You need to get a new car. Like, you need to sage your driveway.' I’m just, like, I don’t know what to do at this point. I just got this car back in March, and I love it so much. But it’s like, What’s going to happen next?” Chelsea said.
