GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Kurt Telman, co-owner of The J Salon, has agreed to issue refunds for gift cards after the shops sudden closure. He reached FOX 17 back on Friday afternoon with an apology and explanation for customers.

Telman and his wife Renee announced the shop's closure on Facebook on Dec. 28. As reported, people who bought gift cards just prior to that were upset and confused.

Mr. Telman said everything happened quickly. He apologized for the lack of communication and says there are things they definitely would have done differently.

Telman says the decision to close was made on Dec. 17, and stylists were notified the next day. He estimates three or four people were impacted by the gift card purchases. If that's you, you can email problemsolvers@fox17online.com.

Telman also thanked The James Salon for agreeing to honor the gift cards.
