GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Regardless of your handy skills, if you’re looking to make some money on the side, you might want to join a one year old Facebook group, Gig-It-Done. 11 different counties across west Michigan have their own page, run by group manager Chas Shekell. “If you have a job that you need done, take a picture, describe it to the best of your ability, throw it up on the page. Once you do that, there should be some contractors available or a handyman in your area that can give you a quote of what that job could cost,” Shekell told Fox 17. Shekell said the type of jobs vary widely and include plumbing, painting, junk or snow removal and everything in between.

Benji Zimmerman runs his own business, Unsalted Unlimited, and finds jobs on the Gig-It-Done Facebook page, but admits he even finds other work if he has some down time. “I specialize in exterior cleaning whether it’s your house, driveway, decks, getting mold and mildew off of those, and then I specialize in painting,” he explained to Fox 17. “I once had a lady who needed to take two bicycles back to Walmart, I had a truck and I had 30 minutes,” Zimmerman explained how he made a quick $20 through Gig-It-Done.

The Kent county group has more than 5,500 members and is also a great place for you to hire someone to do the work you’re not comfortable doing on your own. Just look up Gig-It-Done on Facebook and click “join”. For more information about Zimmerman’s business, go unsaltedunlimited.com.
