President-elect Joe Biden received his initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday.
Watch:
"We owe these folks an awful lot," Biden said upon receiving the vaccine. "The scientists…the frontline workers, the people who were the ones who actually did the clinical work.”
The president-elect then took the time to explain the significance of receiving the shot. "I’m doing this to demonstrate that people should be prepared when it’s available to take the vaccine. There’s nothing to worry about. I’m looking forward to the second shot."
"This is just the beginning," he said, urging everyone to listen to experts like Dr. Anthony Fauci and to continue to wear masks, social distance and avoid traveling if possible.
