WYOMING, MICH. — Countless people have come together to support our healthcare workers on the front lines and now Green Giftz, a local business in partnership with Metro Health University of Michigan, is doing their part to help.

Green Giftz manages the gift shop inside Metro Health University of Michigan all to help raise funds for the Metro Health Foundation, and while they’re temporarily closed inside the hospital due to the pandemic, they’re used to seeing our medical staff on a daily basis, so they partnered with the foundation to help in any way possible.

Green Giftzis a company outside of the hospital also that makes eco-friendly, custom products in Grand Rapids and had a pallet full of apparel that had retired logos from companies that they hung onto in hopes they could one day donate them.

So over the past few days they’ve given hundreds of t-shirts of all sizes to the hospital for healthcare workers that may need a change of clothes if they’re living temporarily in a hotel.

They also are working with the Metro Health Foundation to put together free care kits for staff that include chapstick and lotion for them to help their dry skin.

Not only are they doing this for our healthcare workers but they’re putting together kits for delivery drivers too.

“I can only imagine how challenging it is. I mean, we devote so much to what we do every day and I know that they do, but to have to work so hard and have the emotions that they must be experiencing. I just, I feel for them, we're here for them,” says Karen Scarpino, President/CEO of Green Giftz.

They’re also helping to supply masks and hand sanitizer to employees at Herman Miller when they return to work, along with helping supply gowns, n95 masks and sanitizer to Spectrum and other hospitals.
