GRAND RAPIDS — For parents who may be running out of ideas to keep the kids busy, a local gymnastics club has come up with a few virtual lessons.

Gymco Sports in Grand Rapids has created a series of Youtube videos teaching some basic moves and other games to promote motor and brain skills.

You don’t need any fancy equipment either, just use what you have around your home.

Gymco Sports Vice President of Programs, Shannon Morris said they came up with idea for ‘Couch Gymnastics’ after realizing not many parents have that kind of sports background.

Morris added that the videos are a quick, easy way to break up the day and build mental strength too.

She said, “That inverted awareness is so important and vestibular awareness, jumping, spinning all of that stuff, I think is so important just to get in those connections and taking breaks throughout the day. If you're sitting and I think that's what's happening now, everyone is studying at home and they'll sit down at their computer and they'll go through their school, and taking that time to get up and say ‘Okay, I’m going to get some of this energy out and run around."

You can find all of the videos the Gymco Sports Facebook, Youtube channel, and website.

New Videos will be added every week.
