HOPKINS, Mich. — Hopkins hasn't won a boys basketball conference championship since 1997 but there was a chance to end that streak with a win over NorthPointe Christian on Friday night.
However, Sam Vasiu helped the Mustangs to the 68-63 win over the Vikings in overtime with 31 points. The Mustangs improve to (8-2) in the OK Silver while the Vikings drop to (9-2), creating a three-way tie in the loss column in conference play with (8-2) Calvin Christian.
