GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The lane closure on southbound US-131 from I-96 to Leonard Street will end sometime Friday, but weekend lane closures on I-96 in Ionia County will cause backups Saturday and Sunday.
Here’s the rundown heading into the weekend:
US-131 in Grand Rapids
- Lane closure from I-96 to Leonard Street ends.
- All lanes will be open.
- The right lane that previously ended to Ann Street is not extended to exit only Leonard Street.
US-131 at Burton Street
- Ramp from southbound US-131 to BURTON STREET closed.
- This is the ramp that ends at Century Avenue.
- Closed until October 7.
- Detour: Exit at Hall Street or at 28th Street.
US-131 in Rockford
- Lane closure on northbound US-131 from 10 Mile to 13 Mile.
- One final day, Friday (9/23) 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
US-131 in Kalamazoo County
- Ramp closed from southbound US-131 to westbound I-94.
- From Friday 10 p.m. to no later than 6 a.m. Monday (9/23-9/26).
- Detour: Exit at Stadium Drive, west to 9th Street, south to I-94.
I-96 in Ionia County
- Lane closure on eastbound I-96 from Keefer Highway after exit 73 to Knox Road before the Grand River.
- All day Saturday and Sunday.
- Expect long delays.
- Detour: Exit at M-66 exit 67, north to Grand River Avenue, east through Portland to enter I-96 at mile 77.
I-96 in Ionia County
- Lane closure on eastbound I-96 at M-66.
- Sunday only (9/25), 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- This means there will be two lane closures on I-96, according to the posted schedule.
- Expect long delays.
- Detour: Exit at Jordan Lake Road exit 64 or as early at Nash Highway exit 59, north to Grand River Avenue, east on Grand River Avenue through Portland to enter I-96 at exit 77.
I-94 in Kalamazoo County
- All ramps at 40th Street reopen today (9/23).
Ada Drive in Ada
- Ada Drive closed at Bradfield Street south of the village.
- Water main work.
- Saturday (9/24).
