CANNON TOWNSHIP, Mich. — The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to make major improvements on M-44 Belding Road, and those plans will be available for you to review at a public meeting March 30. The work is planned for 2017 between Wolverine Boulevard and Myers Lake Avenue.
Given that Belding Road is a major commuting artery in northeastern Kent County, plenty of drivers will want to know what to expect.
The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, March 30, 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cannon Township Hall, 6878 Belding Rd NE at Myers Lake Avenue.
MDOT officials will be available to answer questions.
The project includes reconstructing the two-lane highway between Wolverine Boulevard and Blakely Avenue and widening the road between Blakely and Myers Lake Avenue, which would allow for a center turn lane in the Lake Bella Vista area.
