GRAND RAPIDS, Mich — Many areas of the state have high school football all-star games and now Grand Rapids will have one as well.

The Addix All-Star game was announced Tuesday at Gilda’s Club of Grand Rapids.

The game will be played on Friday June 10 at Davenport Universities Farmers Athletic Complex, it will be the first game played on the new football field.

The game will feature the Stars versus the Stripes with anywhere from 35-45 players per team.  Former South Christian head coach Bob Blackquire will coach the Stripes team, T.J. and Josh Meerman will coach the stars team in honor of their late father, Jim who was a highly successful coach at Coopersville for 25 years.

Players who are graduating in 2016 are eligible and can be nominated online at footballaddix.com.

The game will be used as a platform to raise awareness and funds for the cancer and grief support programs that Gilda’s Club offers.
