Seven Comstock Park students charged with illegal entry into teacher’s home

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. --Seven Comstock Park students are expected to plead guilty to one count each of illegal entry after charged with entering the home of one of their teachers last December.

According to the school's Superintendent Ethan Ebenstein, the students admitted to the misdemeanor, which is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or a $500 fine, shortly after the incident on Dec. 8, 2014.

According to a source close to the investigation, the students partied with alcohol and performed lewd acts inside the home of chemistry teacher Jon Wier without his permission.

According to Wier's Linkedin account, he has been teaching at Comstock Park High School for 19 years, is the tennis coach, and helps with the lacrosse team.  Several of the teens charged in this case play on the lacrosse team in addition to playing football.

The students will not face any punishment in the classroom, since the criminal activity occurred outside of school, according to Ebenstein. The students could face discipline connected to their extracurricular activities, including their sports teams, but Ebenstein refused to say if that would happen.

The boys involved in the case, all 18, are Thad Dudick, Mike Egeler, Collin Reimersma, Nick VanOost, Adam Price, Matt Hasman and Timm Carr.  All seven are expected to plead guilty to the crime on May 8.

Wier told FOX 17 News he plans to make a public statement in the courtroom to Judge Sara Smolenski that day.
