Video: Preston Huckaby helps rise of NorthPointe Christian athletics

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich -- For four years Preston Huckaby has been at the center of the NorthPointe Christian football and basketball programs.

Huckaby, has played four years of varsity competition in both sports, that's 135 varsity starts entering Thursday's Class C state semifinals at the Breslin Center.

He has never missed a games due to injury in either sport, only missing one basketball game to attend the funeral of a family member.

The football team qualified for the playoffs all four years and now the basketball team is making the schools first ever appearance in the state semifinals.

Huckaby led the Mustangs with 19 points in the quarterfinal win over Shelby and is the schools all-time leading scorer in basketball.

NorthPointe Christian will play Boyne City at 1 p.m. Thursday will a berth in Saturday's state championship game on the line.
