LAKE ODESSA, Mich. -- Fire crews were having a tough time with a fire as police officers and a K9 unit sought a potential suspect. The occupant of the home had called Ionia County Central Dispatch 911 and said he had been shot and his house was on fire.
The house at 923 3rd Avenue in Lake Odessa was on fire when the first officer on scene reported to dispatchers, but the occupant was outside with the officer.
Initial reports indicated the resident had been shot in the arm.
Police fanned out in efforts to track a potential suspect.
Neither the victim nor the suspect were identified early on.
