GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- January 26 is Australia Day, marking the arrival of the British on the southern continent in 1788. In honor of the occasion, the FOX 17 Morning News team decided to celebrate with one of the most Aussie things they could think of -- Vegemite toast.
Many Americans have heard of Vegemite, but few can say they have tried the Australian staple spread made from yeast extract.
But thanks to a supply sent from his family's Aussie exchange student, meteorologist Jon Shaner was able to share with the rest of his colleagues.
