CHICAGO — A woman claims she was raped by a Uber driver, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Police are investigating the charge, but they have released few details except that they have spoken to the woman and to Uber officials, the newspaper said.
A Uber spokesperson is quoted as saying the incident was “appalling and unacceptable.
Meanwhile, a bill is moving through the Michigan House that would prohibit local governments from regulating so-called transportation network companies but sets a number of statewide rules for companies like Uber and Lyft.
