KALAMAZOO, Mich., -- The Western Michigan University Public Safety Department has issued a warning to stay away from Asylum Lake until further notice following an armed robbery Monday.
The crime happened just before 5pm at the university-owned Asylum Lake Preserve near the intersection of Drake Road and Parkview Avenue, just a few miles away from the main campus.
A man was slightly injured during the incident. The suspect is described as a male in his 30s with dark hair and a dark beard, wearing black cargo shorts and a puffy camouflage jacket.
Investigators have not said what type of weapon was used during robbery.
