GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — For the second time in a week, a crash on southbound US-131 entering the downtown Grand Rapids construction zone backed up morning commuter traffic.
The crash scene blocked the left lane of southbound US-131 that is temporarily exit-only to I-196. The backup stretched back to I-96 and created stop-and-go conditions for the lanes on eastbound I-96 at Alpine Avenue that feed into southbound US-131.
The mishap first popped up around 7:40 a.m.
