Michigan Drivers Get A Holiday Break From Road Construction

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (May 22, 2014) — It is now standard procedure for the Michigan Department of Transportation to suspend road construction on holiday weekends. It makes sense, since so many of us hit the road for beaches, parks, lake cottages, and such.

Any projects that require lane or ramp closures round the clock will not be changed, but workers will not be present, so the speed limits through construction zones will likely be 60 mph. But be sure to obey whatever speed limits that are posted.
