ROCKFORD, Mich. (March 31, 2014) — If you take the time or have the time to dig through racks at thrift stores, you can find some great name brands for a steal. But if you don’t have the patience or the time, LBD Exchange, 11 N. Main St. Suite B, is exceptional, in my opinion.
Owner Stacy Jones got the idea after numerous trips to Portland, Oregon, where these types of places can be found everywhere. So where did the name come from?
“I just did that because I wanted them to know that I carry a lot of little black dresses but that’s not the only thing.” Jones explained. She also added, “The reason why I have Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn is because Coco Chanel actually invented the little black dress and Audrey Hepburn made it famous.” Quotes from the dynamic fashionistas can be found on the walls around the shabby chic, adorable shop, which many times, leaves women not even realizing that it’s a consignment store because it is just that nice.
As Jones gave me a tour, I found name brand skirts, jeans, shoes, jewelry, dresses along with Coach purses, Dooney & Bourke, Ralph Lauren and even Prada; gently loved but not one sign of use on them. Jones and her staff are very particular about the items they place on the sales floor. If you are in the market for a prom dress, LBD Exchange has those, too! They are $100 on down the line. She explains how shoppers can figure out what type of deals they are actually getting.
“It’s a quarter of what it was new. If it’s new or it has tags on it or if it’s really higher end, than it’s closer to one-third or one-half, depends.” Jones said.
You know what makes a high-end retail experience even better? When there is a Smart Shopper deal attached! If you go to the store to snag these deals, you must say you are a FOX17 Smart Shopper.
