GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — An inmate was found dead in his cell Tuesday morning, an apparent suicide.
Scott Allen Hammer, 51, was arrestedin the death of Danielle Scholten-Linderman October 23 in Montcalm County. He was being held on an open murder charge and accused of setting fire to the house after the death.
He was scheduled to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
Deputies found Hammer’s body after he failed to come out of his cell for breakfast shortly before 5 a.m.
