HazMat Unit Contains Chemical Leak At Business Fire

GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — The Ottawa County Hazardous Materials Team was called to ASP Plating to handle a chemical leak while Grand Haven Public Safety units handled a fire at the business.

The chemical leak was from a 55-gallon drum inside the building and was contained. The first was believed to have started in a ventilating unit.

Calls went out on the fire around 4:45 a.m. when someone reported seeing smoke and flames at the business at 211 Griffin Street.
