GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- While the turkeys were thawing, eager shoppers took advantage of hitting up Meijers Pre-Black Friday sales Thursday. Doors were open all night, but some of the deals, such as electronics, didn’t get rolled out onto the floor until the sale officially kicked off at 6 a.m.
Rolling down the aisles were carts with over-sized televisions, five piece ottomans, and one lady had three carts full of coats. Marie Smith works for an insurance agency that donates them to kids in need at area schools. With her coupon, she was able to snag more than 70 of them for around $11 each.
While some hide from the camera, two eager cousins were waving us down. The stood out a bit, with their hair and make-up all done up. Come to find out, the 6 a.m. opening was perfect for them; they work at local bars and finished up their duties, coming to Meijer for the great deals.
“There’s just a lot of good kids deals, toys; I have two young ones myself so, um, they have some good deals here and that, and then um I guess Kmart is another too, we are gonna hit up that one too.” Ariel Shelley said.
Other places opening Thursday morning was Big Lots at 7 a.m. To see all Pre-Black Friday and Black Friday deals, click here.
