PORTAGE, Mich. — A semi fire closed all lanes of I-94 westbound at US-131 Wednesday morning.
The Michigan Department of transportation reported the semi fire and backups on the expressway around 10:15 a.m.
The resulting traffic jam backed up to Westnedge Avenue, according to available speed data.
The eastbound lanes were also closed for a short time, but they were reopened around 10:35 a.m.
Two lanes of westbound I-94 were opened around 10:50 a.m.
