GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — I guess my headline says it all! The weather was indeed perfect for the annual 28th street Metro Cruise in Grand Rapids. Temps reached the low/mid 80s with an almost cloudless sky much of the day…and still low humidity levels too!
I love the old-time cars. I worked on many different styles, shapes, and colors in my life repairing rust, filling in holes, and pulling engines. They didn’t call me James Bondo for nothing!
The 28th street Metro Cruise showcases some of the finest cars across the area, region, and state. The old classics! Remember 60s series tires, chrome parts, sidepipes, real metal dashboards, and heavy duty long-lasting parts? They just don’t make ’em like this anymore.
The event was started in 2005 with about 85,000 people participating and attending. That number has now grown to 250,000. Click hereto read more on the history of the show.
The attached photo was snapped by our media partner and WLAV-FM radio-jock Rob Brandt. He was obviously poised somewhere high above the cruise atop one of the buildings. Great shot Rob!
Heat and humidity will start increasing on Sunday and continue through at least the first half of the week or longer. Get ready for a return to summer temps. Click over to www.fox17online.com/weather for the complete forecast.
