Lane Closures Expected In Ada On M-21 Fulton Street

Posted

ADA, Mich. — The plan is to try to keep traffic disruptions to a minimum in a project to reconstruct M-21 Fulton Street beginning August 12.

The project will upgrade the highway between Grand River Drive and the Grand River, about a one-mile stretch through the heart of Ada and in front of global headquarters Alticor and the Amway plant. In addition to new pavement, there will be upgrades to curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.

The Michigan Department of Transportation plans to restrict lane closures to the middle of the day 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and overnights 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. The highway is a critical commuting connection between Lowell and the east side of the Grand River and to Casade and Grand Rapids.

The bridge carrying M-21 over the Grand River was recently replaced, causing traffic problems for two years during the project.
