GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. —
Furniture City Creamery is a local start up micro creamery, which produces small batches of homemade ice cream. Rachel Franko and her husband Matthew dreamed up the concept after a trip out west where micro creameries are becoming popular. Franko says that West Michigan is the perfect place to set up their business because of the great atmosphere of local providers and small business owners.
Franko hand makes every batch out of the kitchen of the Mitten Brewing Company and uses locally grown and produced ingredients.
Furniture City Creamery specializes in unique flavors and vegan varieties of ice cream. The ice cream is currently being sold through the Mitten Brewery but the Franko’s plan to one day open up their own shop in Grand Rapids.
