Just when you think you have survived the temptation by heading out of the Grand Rapids area, you realize they are in places like Kalamazoo and even Okemos. Not to mention, the countless people who find it their duty as a friend, to ship them to you across country.
As the business continues to grow, one of the newest ventures is Monica’s Gourmet Cookies Bakehouse and Café located at 3668 29th St., Kentwood, right next to Sky Zone Trampoline Park and Watson’s. Daily your nose and mouth are treated to fresh-baked cookies, Quiche, soups and cinnamon rolls topped off with rich coffee.
So how did a love of baking at home turn into such a business? Back in 1991 when Monica Mitidieri was on bed rest because of a high risk pregnancy, she scratched down ideas, and eventually finalized her blend of ingredients. Monica had a catering business but everyone demanded that the cookies were on the menu; therefore, they ended up being her primary area of concentration.
