GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Two adults and three children were able to escape the flames when their home caught fire on Fremont Avenue NW Tuesday night.
Firefighters on scene said the family got out without injury, however their family dog died, and their cat is still missing.
The fire started on the first floor in the back of the home around 9:15 p.m., then quickly spread to the attic.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
