WEST MICHIGAN — Clouds from this morning give way to sunshine for this afternoon as temperatures make a run into the lower half of the 80s. Expect a humid one here on Saturday.
Any rare shower should be relegated to areas around I-94 and especially southward to the Indiana line. West winds will show a slight breeze at 10-15 mph.
With light winds and a bit drier atmosphere, the mercury can drop as low as the upper 50s in spots overnight tonight.
A much warmer and more humid pattern takes control in the days ahead. True summer-time weather is expected with high temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s from Sunday right on through this coming week.
With a diffuse boundary nearby to our southwest Monday into Tuesday we could have a few spotty thunderstorms during the late morning / afternoon / early evening hours under daytime heating. Coverage of precipitation will likely not be great and many areas will see little, if any, rainfall from this setup. Downpours, however, and brief gusty winds will be possible.
High pressure should win the battle of our local weather to keep the forecast rain-free for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. The mercury will push to 90+ degrees on these occasions.
As of right now the forecast for next Saturday, July 4th looks to bring continued warmth well into the 80s to around 90 degrees under partly cloudy skies. A very small risk for a shower or thunderstorm may exist.
