As high pressure remains around the Great Lakes, a winter storm system will slide south of us and bring snow to the southern states. Starting Sunday, snow will develop in Texas, where winter storm watches, warnings and advisories have been issued.

This system will bring one to as much as six inches of snow to the lone star state, but they aren't the only place that will be impacted by the wicked weather. Parts of Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Alabama will also see some snow. These states rarely see snow of this magnitude, so this will likely impact them heavily.

On the flip side, high pressure will keep things quiet here this weekend with plenty of sunshine today! Clouds will filter back in tonight leading to a mostly cloudy day tomorrow. There could also be some snow flurries out there on Sunday but most will remain dry.

You may be asking, when is the snow going to return? The storm system that brings the significant snow to Texas will miss us completely, so it won't be until Thursday/Friday that we see the chances of accumulating snow go up.
