Several school districts in West Michigan are canceling weekend events ahead of an ice storm that will impact most of the area.
Heavy rain is expected to move in Friday evening and turn to ice early Saturday morning, leading to dangerous road conditions and a risk of power outages.
On Friday, the following events were canceled:
- All Grandville Public Schools events on Saturday
- Red Cedar and Ionia Parks and Recreation basketball on Saturday
- All weekend events and activities for Holland Public Schools
- Schoolcraft schools will not be taking students to athletic events
- All Saturday events for Forest Hills Central
- All Saturday events at Kentwood Public Schools
