LAKE MICHIGAN — You may have heard the wind howling a bit last night or noticed it this morning as it pushed your hair around a little. Wind gusts have peaked around 30 to 40 mph ahead of a strong cold front. This front will drop our temperatures down into the 60s on Monday.

Red flags were flying along the lakeshore yesterday and they will remain up today! Waves have peaked Sunday morning around 6 to 8 feet. While the winds and waves will slowly subside by the evening, the danger will still be there all day long.

You can still enjoy the warm day on the beach, as some sun will still be around for the day. Rain showers will develop after sunset which is just before 7:30 pm today. Once the cold front rolls through tonight, the chilly air will be placed directly overhead, and temperatures will go back below normal.

When red flags fly, stay off the piers and out of the water! Lake Michigan has had it's deadliest year on record this year.
