GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — The totals for Food Fight Friday 2019 are in!
This year students raised 34,401lbs of food for various local pantries, that's equivalent to 28,668 meals!
Here's a breakdown of what each school raised, and of course the Food Fight Friday winner!
10. Battle Creek Central HIgh School
The Bearcats raised 1,094lbs of food for South Michigan Food Bank!
9. Newaygo High School
The Lions raised 1,288lbs of food for Feeding America West Michigan!
8. Holland High School
The Dutch raised 1,746lbs of food for Community Action House.
7. West Ottawa High School
The Panthers raised 2,106lbs of food for Feeding America West Michigan.
6. Grandville Calvin Christian High School
The Squires raised 2,529lbs of food for Feeding America West Michigan.
5. East Kentwood High School
The Falcons raised 3,020lbs of food for the Green Apple Pantry.
4. Belding High School
The Black Knights raised 3,276lbs of food for Feeding America West Michigan.
3. Greenville High School
The Yellow Jackets raised 3,314lbs of food for Feeding America West Michigan.
2. Byron Center High School
The Bulldogs raised 5,377lbs of food for Hand2Hand.
And finally..... drumroll Please!
1st Place - Thornapple Kellogg High School!
The Trojans showed themselves as the ultimate Food Fight Friday warriors, raising 10,651lbs of food for Feeding America West Michigan!
As a small token of thanks we were able to reward the incredible student council who lead Thornapple's food drive with a FREE lunch from our sponsors Dickey's Barbecue Pit.
Thornapple Kellogg will now be home to the FOX17 Food Fight Friday trophy until Fall of 2020!
