SHERMAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Michigan State Police are looking for two suspects who broke into a woman’s home using a ruse about a quote for roof repairs to distract her.
The suspects approached the homeowner on Featherstone Road near Centreville Road, west of Prairie River Lake in St. Joseph County.
While one suspect distracted the homeowner by asking her to follow him to the back of the house to discuss a quote for roof repairs, the other suspect went through the front door of the house.
MSP did not say if the crooks got anything.
They were last seen in a newer gray Chevrolet Silverado pickup with tinted windows pulling a trailer with slotted wood sides and a tarp on top.
Anyone with information is asked to call law enforcement.
