Police investigating unlawful imprisonment in Branch County

BRANCH COUINTY — Michigan State Police say a man is in jail after allegedly threatening his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend in Branch County Sunday night.

Police were called to a home around 9 p.m. along Stoney Point Drive in Gilead Township.

The woman's mother reportedly received a text from the woman saying the suspect would not let them leave unless she performed sexual acts on both men. He also allegedly threatened them with a knife.

The couple had been to the ex -boyfriends home to pic up some of her belongings, according to Michigan State Police.

The suspect is being held in the Branch County jail and being charged with intent to commit criminal sexual conduct, assault with a dangerous weapon, unlawful imprisonment, and a probation violation.

The suspect's name was not released.
