Motorcyclist seriously injured in Branch County after hitting deer

GIRARD TWP., Mich. — A motorcyclist in Branch County was left seriously injured after hitting a deer in Girard Twp. this morning.

At 11:45 a.m., Branch County Sheriff Deputies responded to a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries on Marshall Rd just south of Vincent Rd., in Girard Township.

51-year-old Margo Boyd was north bound on Marshall Rd. just south of Vincent Rd. and struck a deer that ran in front of her from a wooded area.

The impact caused the loss of control and the motorcycle crashing. No other vehicles were involved.

Boyd suffered serious injuries, and was air lifted to Bronson Hospital in serious condition. Boyd was wearing a helmet.

Branch County Sheriff Deputies were assisted at the scene by, Life Care Ambulance, Coldwater Fire Department rescue and Air Care’s helicopter.
