WEST MICHIGAN — Consumers Energy says it has activated its storm mode after thousands of people lost power Tuesday night due to storms.
The worse is yet to come though according to Consumers Energy, with more storms moving in Wednesday afternoon.
Right now, Kalamazoo County appears to be one of the hardest hit areas with more than 7,000 Consumers Energy customers without power.
Other areas like Allegan, Ottawa and Van Buren Counties also saw downed trees and power lines leaving more than 1,500 customers without power.
Consumers Energy says its crews are working 16-hour shifts to get power restored but the outages will likely get worse due to more storms.
